Sew a Matching Luggage Tag and Suitcase Handle Cover
With this pattern, you can make two coordinating travel accessories:
• A fabric luggage tag for adding your contact information
• A suitcase handle cover that wraps around your luggage handle
Make both pieces in matching fabric for a coordinated set, or mix and match your favorite prints!
Bright colors and distinctive prints are especially fun because they can help your suitcase stand out at baggage claim.

A Fun and Practical Travel Sewing Project
I love sewing projects that are both cute and useful, and this matching luggage set is definitely both!
Choose a tropical print for a vacation, your favorite colors for a special trip, a cute novelty fabric for a child’s suitcase or a bold print you’ll recognize immediately.
Woven cotton fabrics, such as quilting cotton, are a great choice because they’re easy to cut, easy to sew and come in just about every print imaginable.
For this project you’ll need:
• Luggage Tag and Suitcase Handle Cover PDF Sewing Pattern
• Woven cotton fabric, such as quilting cotton
• Interfacing
• Clear vinyl for the luggage tag window
• Hook-and-loop fastener
• Coordinating thread
• Sewing machine
• Fabric scissors or rotary cutter
• Pins or sewing clips
• Iron
That’s it!
How to Sew a Fabric Luggage Tag
Start by choosing your fabric and cutting out the luggage tag pieces using the printable pattern.
You’ll prepare and layer the pieces, create the clear information window and sew the luggage tag together.
Add a card with your contact information, attach the finished tag to your suitcase and you’re ready for your next adventure!
For privacy, consider including your name, phone number and email address instead of displaying your full home address.
How to Sew a Suitcase Handle Cover
The matching suitcase handle cover wraps around your luggage handle to add a little extra comfort, color and personality.
After cutting your fabric and interfacing, you’ll layer and sew the pieces, turn the cover right side out, press it and add the finishing touches.
Wrap it around your suitcase handle, fasten it and your matching travel set is complete!
