🌺 Aloha! I’m Heather, the Sewing Pattern Designer behind Aloha Sewing Company. I’m also a wife, mama of four, former nurse for the Department of Defense (Army), and someone who can never throw away a good fabric scrap. 😂
Today I’m showing you how to sew one of the quickest and easiest scrap-busting sewing projects - a fabric corner bookmark!
These bookmarks slip right over the corner of your book page to hold your place, take less than 10 minutes to sew and use only a small amount of fabric. I also created my Fabric Corner Bookmark PDF Sewing Pattern in three different sizes, so you can make them for everything from children’s books and paperbacks to larger books, cookbooks and journals.
Sew a Fabric Corner Bookmark in 3 Sizes
I designed this pattern in three sizes so you can choose the best fit for the book you’re using:
• Small: Good for smaller books, kids’ books & paperbacks
• Medium: Good for most standard books & everyday reading
• Large: Good for larger books, textbooks, cookbooks & journals
The pattern also includes printable “I’ll Hold Your Page” Corner Bookmark Tags that you can use when giving your bookmarks as gifts or selling your finished bookmarks.

A Quick Scrap-Busting Sewing Project
This is a GREAT project for using your fabric scraps because you need very little fabric for each bookmark.
I recommend woven cotton fabrics, such as quilting cotton. They’re easy to cut, easy to sew and come in just about every print imaginable.
Coordinate your fabrics or mix them up! Florals, stripes, polka dots, holiday prints, novelty fabrics, Hawaiian prints and solids can all make adorable bookmarks.
For this project you’ll need:
• Fabric Corner Bookmark PDF Sewing Pattern
• Fabric scraps or quilting cotton
• Coordinating thread
• Sewing machine
• Fabric scissors or rotary cutter
• Pins or sewing clips
• Iron
That’s it!
How to Sew a Fabric Corner Bookmark
Start by choosing which of the three bookmark sizes you want to make and cut out your fabric pieces using the printable pattern.
You’ll layer the fabric pieces together, sew your bookmark, turn it right side out, press it and add the finishing topstitching.
It’s quick, beginner-friendly and a great project for practicing basic sewing skills.
I show you exactly how to sew your fabric corner bookmark from start to finish in the full video tutorial below. 🎥
